KTU Education Conclave ‘SOAR 2026’ concludes successfully at Vidya Academy, showcasing new horizons in higher education

Transcending traditional boundaries of engineering education, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) is steering the SOAR 2026 (Students’ Orientation for Aspiration and Readiness) conclave as a transformative platform to introduce futuristic, industry-integrated curricula aligned with evolving global skill demands. Vidya Academy of Science and Technology has been selected as one of the key regional host institutions, playing an important role in expanding the reach and impact of this progressive academic initiative
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Sunitha C. (Principal).The Principal highlighted that the primary objective of the conclave was to guide students and parents in understanding the wide opportunities available in technical education and to help them make informed decisions about their future career paths with clarity and confidence. Representing APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), Dr. Nithin Sudharsanan (Faculty Member, School of Building Sciences & Technology) underscored the university’s academic excellence in the field of technical education in Kerala.The KEAM Awareness session led by Dr. Nisha A. B (VIBE Convener, HoD, AS Dept) provided participants with a clear understanding of the admission procedures, academic options and career opportunities available through engineering education.Mr Paul Chackola (Head, Training & Placement) delivered an enlightening session on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, highlighting the transformative role of AI in modern engineering practices and its vast potential for future innovation.Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director of VICT)Dr. Abhilasha P. S (Institution Coordinator- SOAR 2026, HoD, CE Dept) and Ms Chithira Ajeet (Co-ordinator – SOAR 2026,Asst. Prof.,CE Dept) also graced the dais. Suraj Krishna K (S4, CSE Dept) highlighted the role of incubation centres in providing aspiring entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and support needed to transform innovative ideas into successful ventures.The dynamic startup incubated at Vidya was presented by  Mohammed Nidhal (CEO,Grafen Innovations LLP,S8,AIML Dept) during the introduction session, demonstrating the strong foundation of innovation and entrepreneurship emerging in Thrissur.
The conclave witnessed an overwhelming response, more than 300 students from IG English School, Chirakkal; Nirmal Jyothi Central School, Vivekodayam Boys Higher Secondary School, Zephyr Future Academy, Thrissur and neighbouring diploma institutions participated enthusiastically in the event and gained valuable academic and career-oriented insight.
Innovation on display : Projects and Startups steal the spotlight
The event featured exhibition stalls from eight institutions-Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ernakulam; Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad; ICCS College of Engineering and Management, Thrissur; METS School of Engineering, Mala; Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre, Palakkad; Rajadhani Institute of Science and Technology, Palakkad; Royal College of Engineering and Technology, Akkikavu; and Vedavyasa Institute of Technology, Malappuram – providing visitors with an opportunity to explore innovative student projects, emerging technologies and institutional achievements
Cutting-Edge Projects: Exhibition of innovative projects and prototypes developed by students grabbed the attention of visitors
Startup presentations: Incubated startups and campus-originated entrepreneurial ventures were showcased, reflecting the growing entrepreneurial spirit among student
Academic Stalls : Stalls highlighting the academic and research achievements of various institutions provided clear guidance to aspiring students.
Spotlighting Vidya’s Excellence
The Techno Stall, organized with the support of Inker Robotics, Viswas Computers, Texar Systems Pvt. Ltd. and Bosch Vidya Joint Certification Centreserved as an interactive platform for participants to experience the latest technological developments and innovative engineering solutions
