CE student and faculty member present paper at the International Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Management (SECON)

Vidya students and faculty are investigating ways to enhance the fire resilience of cold-formed steel studs under one-sided fire exposure, contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable structural systems

The Department of Civil Engineering, is pleased to announce that Aparna P.S (S2 ,Tech CE Dept), successfully presented her research paper, titled “Enhancing Fire Resilience of Cold-Formed Steel Studs under One-Sided Fire Exposure” (Paper ID: 99), at the SECON26 conference held from 03–05June  2026.The paper was co-authored by her project supervisor, Mr. Kiran Babu A.R.(Asst Prof, CE Dept). The paper has been selected for publication in the Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering book series by Springer Nature.

Organized by the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Ernakulam, the conference was held in collaboration with several prestigious bodies, including the ASCE Student Chapter, IGBC Student Chapter,BAI Angamaly Centre,ISTE FISAT Chapter, IEI Kochi Local Centre, ICI Kochi Centr  and the FISAT Institution’s Innovation Council.Ms.Aparna’s research, which investigates the structural enhancement of steel studs under fire exposure, contributes directly to the advancement of innovative and sustainable structural systems. The event provided an excellent platform for disseminating findings to academicians, researchers, and industry professionals, while garnering valuable expert feedback.
