NSS conducts blood donor registration drive: an initiative to build a stronger emergency response network

The NSS Unit of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, Thrissur, regularly conducts several impactful activities through its flagship Rudhirasena initiative to strengthen the voluntary blood donor network and raise public awareness

The NSS Unit  successfully organized a Blood Donors Registration Campaign as part of Rudhirasena on 08 August 2026 at the Swaraj Round Area, Thrissur.  A total of 22 NSS volunteers actively participated in organizing and managing the campaign.

The programme received an encouraging response from the public, resulting in the registration of 245 voluntary blood donors. The newly registered donors will contribute to strengthening the Rudhirasena donor database and help facilitate timely blood support during emergency requirements. The programme was successfully coordinated through the dedicated efforts of the NSS Rudhirasena Coordinators, whose planning and coordination ensured the smooth execution of the campaign.

The event was conducted under the able guidance of Mr. Rajesh S K NSS (NSS Programme Officer, Asso Prof,EEE Dept) Mr. Ranjith E R (Programme Officer, Asst Prof,ME Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Programme Officer, Asst Prof,CSE Dept) .

The active involvement of the NSS volunteers, coordinators, and Programme Officers contributed significantly to the success of the programme. The NSS Unit expresses its sincere gratitude to all the volunteers, coordinators, donors, and members of the public who supported and contributed to this meaningful social initiative.
