Engineers’ Day Special: EEE students gain industry exposure at ERAM Skill Academy

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) provides students with valuable hands-on exposure to automobiles, electric vehicles and emerging automotive technologies through industrial visits.

As part of the Engineers’ Day celebrations, the Department organised an industrial visit to ERAM Skill Academy, Kunnamkulam, for final-year EEE students on 15 September 2026, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Vidya Academy of Science and Technology and ERAM Skill Academy.

The visit was particularly significant as it coincided with Engineers’ Day, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of engineering through practical learning, technological innovation and industrial exposure. With a special focus on automobiles and emerging vehicle technologies, the programme enabled students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world engineering applications.

During the visit, domain experts and technical trainers from ERAM Skill Academy conducted comprehensive technical briefings and practical demonstrations on several contemporary areas of vehicle engineering. The students were introduced to Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains, automotive electronics, onboard sensor networks, Electronic Control Units (ECUs), vehicle diagnostics and automated safety systems. The interactive sessions helped students gain a deeper understanding of how electrical and electronic engineering principles are being applied in the rapidly evolving automotive sector.

Dr. Vinila M L (HoD,EEE Dept) extended her Engineers’ Day wishes to the students and encouraged them to actively interact with the ERAM representatives and make the most of the industrial exposure.A total of 60 final-year EEE students participated actively in the visit. The students were coordinated by Mr. Rajesh S K (Asso Prof,EEE Dept) and Ms. Sheeja (Asst Prof,EEE Dept) with the support of Mr. Jugal K. G. (Student Co-ordinator,S7 EEE Dept) who contributed to the smooth organisation and active participation of the students throughout the programme.

The industrial visit was supported and facilitated by Mr. Nandakumar (Central Head) Mr. Ali (Academic Head) and Mr. Ajith (tutor, ERAM Skill Academy) and Mr. Jibin (tutor, ERAM Skill Academy)

Sharing their reflections on the visit, Mr. Edwin C T (S7, EEE Dept), Mr. Gautham Krishna (S7, EEE Dept) and Ms. Abhirami A B  (S7, EEE Dept) expressed their gratitude to Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, ERAM Skill Academy and the EEE Department for providing such a valuable learning opportunity. They noted that the visit offered meaningful industrial exposure and enhanced their understanding of emerging mobility solutions and modern automotive technologies.

The Engineers’Day special industrial visit served as a valuable platform for students to experience the practical dimensions of engineering. It reinforced the importance of strong fundamentals, hands-on skills, technological awareness and continuous innovation in preparing students to become capable and future-ready engineers.

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest appreciation to EEE Dept on the successful conduct of the industrial visit that serves as an inspiring learning experience  to pursue continuous learning and innovation in their journey towards becoming future-ready engineers.
