Vidya signs MoU with BIMLABS Engineering Services to advance BIM and Engineering Design Education

To strengthen academic–industry collaboration in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and engineering design by upgrading campus lab infrastructure into BIM-enabled facilities and providing students and faculty with specialized training, internships, research projects, and placement-oriented career opportunities.

Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), Thrissur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BIMLABS Engineering Services Private Limited on 18 September 2026. The strategic partnership aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and advanced engineering design.

Under this 3-year agreement, BIMLABS will assist VAST in upgrading its Computer-Aided Design (CAD) laboratories into BIM-enabled facilities. The collaboration will encompass faculty development programs, student seminars, certified BIM courses, workshops, design contests, internships, research projects, and placement support. VAST will provide the requisite infrastructure, laboratory space, and computing resources to facilitate these initiatives.

The agreement was executed by Ms. Nisha Sudevan (Academic Business Head) and Mr. Anandhu A. S. (Operations Manager) representing BIMLABS and Dr. Sunitha C. (Principal) on behalf of VAST. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Khadeeja Priyan (Asso Prof, CE Dept), along with  Ms. Chithra M.(Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Seetha Pisharikkel (Asst Prof, CE Dept)
