Centre of Excellence (CoE), CSE & AIML join hands for a three-day workshop “Build, Deploy & Scale AI Systems”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation by providing students with opportunities to explore modern tools, technologies, and industry practices

The Centre of Excellence (CoE), Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, jointly with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, organized a three-day workshop titled “Build, Deploy & Scale AI Systems” from 15 to 17 September 2026. The workshop was conducted as part of the CoE Module 3 and Module 4 initiatives and was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to the deployment, management, and scaling of AI-based applications.

The workshop was conducted in a hybrid mode, with offline sessions on 15 and 16 September 2026 and an online session on 17 September 2026. The sessions were led by Dr. Anil Raj J (AI/ML Consultant) who provided participants with industry-oriented insights and hands-on experience in AI deployment and DevOps practices. The program was coordinated by Dr. Arjun K P (Asso Prof, CSE Dept).

Topics Covered:

• Cloud Deployment – Deploying applications with confidence
• Docker Basics – Containerizing applications
• CI/CD Pipeline – Automated build and deployment workflows
• Security & Secrets Management – Protecting sensitive data and credentials
• Monitoring & Logging – Observability and system analysis
• Scalability & Best Practices – Designing systems to scale effectively
• Mini Project – Hands-on build, deploy, and showcase exercise

Outcome:
The workshop provided participants with hands-on exposure to real-world AI deployment pipelines, helping them build practical, future-ready skills in cloud deployment, containerization, and DevOps practices. The program concluded successfully with a mini project where participants applied the concepts learned in a build-deploy-showcase format. The event was well received by students and the Centre of Excellence plans to continue similar hands-on workshops in the future.
