EEE Dept takes initiative to explore industry–academia collaboration with ERAM Technologies – Skill Academy
During the visit, detailed discussions were held with Mr. Austin (Manager & Principal,ERAM Technologies – Skill Academy). The management explained the various skill-development programmes offered by the academy, its practical training approach and possible avenues for collaboration. The team also interacted with trainers and visited the workshops, practical training areas and other facilities, gaining insights into the academy’s hands-on, industry-oriented training environment.
A major focus of the discussions was the possibility of providing certification-oriented training for EEE students. Training options of two weeks, one month and three months were discussed, with the three-month programme including continuous skill training and on-job training, along with an attempt to provide maximum possible placement assistance.
The visit identified opportunities relevant to both EEE and Mechanical Engineering students. Electrician-related certification and skill-development programmes at the Angamaly centre could benefit EEE students, while Certified Welder and automobile-related programmes available through the Angamaly and Kunnamkulam centres could support students of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
The visit concluded with the identification of a phased action plan, including exploring pilot certification programmes for interested students, faculty industrial training, and continued discussions on internships, placement assistance and advanced training opportunities.
