Vidya organizes third edition of South India inter-collegiate football tournament

The College successfully organized the third edition of Vidya Cup Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament in the campus on 23  – 24 February 2019.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mr Vishak Nair (promising cine artist of Aanandham fame) in a colorful opening ceremony. Er G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, Dr Saji C B, Principal, Sri K M Parameswara Swamy, Managing Director, KMP Consultants, Dr S Swapnakumar (Prof and Head, ECE,Dept) members of faculty and students attended the function.

As many as 22 engineering colleges and 3 polytechnic colleges from different parts of South India took part in the tournament. IES College of Engineering, Chittilappilly, won the champion title by defeating Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi, in a tie-breaker decider. Mr Akhil T A of Maharaja’s Technical Institute, Thrissur, was adjudged as the ‘Man of the Tournament’ and secured a Trophy and Cash award worth Rs.5000 sponsored by Vidya’s alumnus Mr Yoonus M P (2010-14 B Tech EEE (2010 – 14 batch)) and B Tech ME (2007-11 batch).

The prizes for winners were handed over by Sri Anil M (AP, ECE Dept) in the closing ceremony held on 24 February 2019.
