Vidya and Kerala Women’s Commission jointly organise seminar on “Mental Health”

A seminar on “Mental Health” was organized the Women Empowerment Cell of Vidya, jointly with Kerala Women’s Commission, on 27 January 2021 from 7 PM to 9 PM via Google Meet. The programme was also streamed live in YouTube.

The programme began with a silent prayer. Dr Abhilasha P S Asso Prof, CE Dept) welcomed everyone to the seminar. Dr Saji C B, Principal, presided over the function and emphasized the significance of mental health.

Smt M C Josephine, Chairperson, Kerala Women’s Commission graced the occasion and delivered the inaugural address. She talked about the dowry system in Kerala and emphasized that students must be vigilant and proactive in holding discussions on justice for women. This was followed by the main talk on “Mental Health” by Dr M M Basheer, Retired District Medical Officer, Thiruvananthapuram. It was a very informative session and the students were really happy. Adv Shiji Sivaji, Member, Kerala Women’s Commission felicitated the gathering. Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept) presented a formal vote of thanks.
