Vidya EEE students develop cost-effective Electric Go-Kart

The students from Vidya are trying to bring a change.

Air pollution created smoke and toxins for the racing cars. Electrical department students of Vidya have built a cost effective Electric  go-kart as part of their final year project. They have built this fully electric go-kart in which Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor is used instead of engine. It is also equipped with a solar charger unit. The team is planning to incorporate  a real-time monitoring that helps another person to control it from the outside. This go-kart weighs 65 kg and can load up to 200 kg. Its construction is at a very low cost compared to engine go-karts that cost around 2 lakhs.

The newly developed  ‘Electric go-kart’, attracted lots of print and electronic media attention .
