NSS conducts Mega Blood Donation Camp Sanjeevanam 3.0
To support the needy community and to promote blood donation amid the youth,a Mega Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized by volunteers of NSS in association with Govt. Medical College Hospital, Thrissur and IMA Blood bank on 07 February 2024.The camp was held at the Pranavam Auditorium of Vidya Academy of Science And Technology.
The event witnessed good participation of student volunteers. The students actively participated in the blood donation campaign and the total number of students who donated blood was 136 in which 64 donations were for Govt. Medical college and 72 donations for IMA blood bank.
The event was coordinated by NSS volunteers who took care of the logistics including registration, blood donation, and post-donation care of the donors. The hospitals provided all the necessary medical support for the event.The organizers provided the certificate for the donors. Frijo Antony C F ( S4, CSE Dept), an active NSS volunteer who have secured first position in the poster design contest conducted by Blood Donors Kerala was congratulated during the camp. The Sanjeevanam Programme was aimed at creating awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraging more people to donate blood
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept) and Mr Renjith E R (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept).
