Asst. Librarian presents paper in the International Conference on Libraries at the Crossroads

Libraries are precious foundations that have long stood as citadel of knowledge. Library professional at Vidya cherishes the traditions of libraries with integrating  modern technology.

Ms Surabhi M S (Asst. Librarian) participated and presented a paper in the Three Day International Conference on Libraries at the Crossroads: Balancing Tradition and Technology conducted by University of Kerala (Hybrid Mode) held at Trivadrum during  19-21 December 2024.

The paper  titled “Revitalizing Libraries in the Digital Age: Embracing New Technologies While Preserving Tradition’ co- authored with  Ms Sareena K T (Librarian, AIWA College, Mongam,Malappuram) was presented by Ms Surabhi on 19 December 2024.

Ms Surabhi  presented a detailed  idea about  how libraries influence digital tools, the fruition of library services, and challenges that have been facing in the digitization of libraries, and why these cultural institutions will continue to thrive in the digital era. The paper explored how libraries are influencing digital tools to transform their services,meeting the needs of tech-savvy audiences while maintaining their historical role. Conventional Digital library system,Overview of the Digital Transformation in Libraries,Different ways to adopt Digital Tools,the role of Librarians in the Digital Era and the visualization of future Libraries with the importance of sustainability were also presented and discussed during the session.
