Industrial Interaction by CISAT

The Department of Civil Engineering provides various platforms to the  students with insights into the importance of aestheticism

The Civil Engineering Association of the Department of Civil Engineering in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers – IE(I) – VAST Student Chapter, successfully conducted a one-day industrial interaction program by CISAT (Cadpoint Institute of Science & Technology), authorized CADD training center, Thrissur, on “Aesthetic Aspects in Building Design” on 10 February  2025. The program commenced with an inaugural session, followed by expert lectures, industrial interaction, and a concept drawing competition. Mr. Arundas V. M  (Director, Cadpoint Institute of Science & Technology), Mr. Vinod K. C. (Director, Cadpoint Institute of Science & Technology) and Mr. Amjath Mohammed (Engineer in Chief, Square Feet Builders) conducted insightful sessions on various aspects of building aesthetics, sustainable materials, and urban planning. Students engaged in an interactive Q&A session, gaining industry exposure and career guidance.

To encourage creativity and design thinking, a group-wise concept drawing competition was conducted, where students presented their ideas on aesthetically appealing restaurant designs. Each group showcased their sketches, incorporating innovative architectural elements and sustainable practices. Dr Sunitha C (Principal)  distributed prizes to the winning teams of the concept drawing competition. The competition winners were recognized for their creativity, feasibility, and aesthetic approach in building design. Certificates of participation were also awarded to all attendees.

Dr Abhilasha P S (Professor  & HoD, CE Dept) and Dr Anjali P Sasidharan (Asso Prof, CE Dept) attended the program. Mr Kiran Babu A.R. (Civil Engineering Association in Charge and Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Roshni Vijay (IE(I) VAST Student Chapter Staff Co-ordinator, Asst Prof, CE Dept) organized the program for pre final year students. Feedback session at the end of the program revealed the success of the program.
