CE Dept organizes online workshop on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Modern Construction’

To introduce higher secondary students to the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in the field of Civil Engineering, the Dept of Civil Engineering  in association with CISAT (Cad Point Institute of Science & Technology) – The Soul of Engineering – organized an engaging online workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in Modern Construction” on 20 May  2025, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event was designed specifically for Plus One and Plus Two students, aiming to introduce them to the evolving role of AI in the field of civil engineering.

The session began with a warm welcome address by Dr Abhilasha P.S (HoD, CE Dept) who greeted the participants and the resource person. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of embracing emerging AI-based technologies and encouraged students to explore future possibilities in civil engineering. She noted that the workshop was both fruitful and inspiring for all attendees. Mr. Kiran Babu A. R. (Asst Prof, CE Dept) served as the programme coordinator. 

The session featured an insightful and informative presentation by Mr. Arundas V M (representative from CISAT). The students participated actively in the session, which began with a discussion on the continued relevance of civil engineering and its diverse branches. The focus then shifted to how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming traditional construction methodologies and enhancing overall efficiency in the industry.
