Career Guidance Session by Pathways for 2022-26 batch
Career guidance session was provided for the final year students of the 2026 graduating batch by Mr. Jose Johnson from M/s. Pathways. The session was conducted over two days as follows:
- Friday, 11 July 2025 online for B. Tech students of Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Monday, 21 July 2025 in person for the PG students of MCA
Mr. Johnson who holds a B. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering with M. Tech IIT, explained to the students about various opportunities for fresh engineering graduates from any engineering stream and for MCA graduates in the information technology domain. He touched upon:
- Job designations and job roles
- What is expected to done under that role
- Pay packages
- Career progression path and
- About skills required to reach that level
- Importance of domain knowledge
The interactive session was very fruitful in imparting knowledge to the students and in helping them in the decision process of choosing a career path from the various options available. He explained the necessity of skills and knowing hands-on one operating system like Window, UNIX, Linux, one programming language like Java, Python, etc., and any one database skills very well at a basic to intermediate level. Mr. Johnson provided a brief demonstration of the ease of working using any standard IDE. The case study was on using an IDE to demonstrate how easy it is to setup a database, create tables, insert data, and execute queries to extract data.
