NSS Volunteers participate in region-level Anti-Drug Campaign “Bodhapoornima”
The NSS volunteers of Vidya organize several campaigns and activities with the primary aim of spreading awareness among the public—particularly the youth—about the detrimental impact of drug abuse and advocating for a drug-free society.
Vidya NSS volunteers actively participated in the region-level anti-drug awareness campaign “Bodhapoornima”, organized by the TCR-PKD NSS Cell of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The event, part of the ASAAD SENA initiative, was held at Sobha City Mall, Thrissur on 06 July 2025,
The program was graced by Mr A C Joseph (Assistant Excise Inspector, Kolazhy Range), who attended as the Guest of Honour. In a compelling and impactful session, Shri Joseph highlighted the alarming increase in drug abuse among youth, drawing from real-life incidents encountered during his service in the Excise Department. His address offered a sobering perspective on the legal, social, and personal consequences of substance abuse and underscored the urgent need for early intervention, strong legal enforcement, and active community participation in combating this pressing issue. He also encouraged students to become ambassadors of anti-drug initiatives within their institutions and local communities.
The campaign featured a variety of engaging activities, including motivational talks, awareness sessions, and interactive segments with the public, all aimed at fostering vigilance and spreading the anti-drug message. NSS volunteers from various engineering colleges in the region came together in solidarity for this vital cause, with the presence and participation of Vidya’s NSS volunteers being especially noteworthy.
The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest congratulations to NSS volunteers on the successful conduct of ‘Bodhapoornima‘ that enhances awareness of the gravity of substance abuse and the value of early, community-driven intervention !!! |
