Industry Institute Interaction Talk on “Agentic AI – Challenges and Opportunities”

To provide students with an in-depth understanding of the emerging concept of Agentic AI, its practical applications,

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, organized an Industry Institute Interaction Talk on the topic “Agentic AI – Challenges and Opportunities” on 22 August 2025.

Eminent industry leaders Mr Mahesh Ramakrishnan (Founder, Tataatsu Idealabs; Former Global Head, Thomson Reuters) and Dr Balamurali A R (Director, AI KYRO; Former CTO, Nugenomics) led the insightful session.

The talk, attended by the fifth semester students (2023–2026 batch), explored the rapidly evolving landscape of Agentic AI.The speakers highlighted its potential applications in transforming decision-making processes, automating complex workflows and creating new avenues for innovation across diverse domains.They also provided a balanced perspective by discussing the ethical, technical and organizational challenges that must be addressed for responsible and sustainable adoption of AI technologies.

The highly engaging session offered students meaningful exposure to cutting-edge advancements in Artificial Intelligence, motivating them to consider research avenues and career prospects in this domain. By bridging industry practices and academic learning, the event proved to be both inspiring and insightful.
