NSS Eco-Initiative on World Nature Conservation Day

The NSS volunteers of Vidya organized an eco-friendly outreach programme to promote sustainable living and reduce plastic usage on 28 July 2025 — World Nature Conservation Day.

As part of the initiative, volunteers distributed paper pens both within the college campus and in the nearby areas of Velur Panchayath, reaching out to local shopkeepers, bank employees, auto drivers, pedestrians, and other members of the community.

The programme aimed to create awareness about the benefits of using biodegradable alternatives to everyday items, thereby reducing environmental pollution. Volunteers also interacted with public, emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts and encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly practices in daily life.

The activity was well-received by students, faculty members, shopkeepers, bank staff, and community members, who appreciated the volunteers’ thoughtful gesture. By taking this small yet impactful step, Vidya’s NSS volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable living, echoing the message of World Nature Conservation Day.

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest appreciation to all NSS volunteers on the successful conduct of the programme that inspires individuals to embrace small yet impactful eco-friendly habits that collectively contribute to a healthier planet !!!
