VSEC student volunteer exhibits his competence and confidence in his role as a resource person
Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC), under the aegis of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT) always strives to bring out the best in students by providing them with opportunities and platforms to showcase their knowledge and talents. With this objective, VSEC organized an internal talk on “Energy Conservation and Sustainable Practices” on 06 February 2026.
The session was handled by Mrityunjay R (S8, EEE Dept.), who spoke in detail about the importance of energy conservation through various real-life examples. The anchoring of the program was done by Gayathri P (S6,ECE Dept.).The program began with a silent prayer, followed by an introduction to VSEC and a brief introduction of the resource person. The event was photographed by Suraj Krishna K (S4, CSE Dept) and Sooraj (S4, CSE Dept).
The session was then led by Mrityunjay, where he elaborated on energy conservation and sustainable living practices. He discussed several examples related to electrical energy conservation, including the efficient use of appliances, reduction of energy wastage, and the importance of renewable energy sources. He also explained how everyday human activities, excessive electricity consumption, and dependence on non-renewable resources contribute to energy depletion and environmental issues. Through various examples, he highlighted the long-term impact of energy misuse on the environment and future generations.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices such as conserving electricity, using energy-efficient devices, switching to renewable energy sources, and developing eco-friendly habits in daily life. The session was delivered in an engaging and informative manner, helping the audience clearly understand the significance of energy conservation.
Dr. Siju K. C (Head, VSEC and Asso. Prof, AS Dept), Ms. Akhila R (VSEC Staff Member,Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept) and Ms. Surabhi M.S (VSEC Staff Member, Asst Librarian) shared their valuable insights and appreciated the resource person for presenting the topic in an effective and informative way. They also encouraged VSEC volunteers to actively participate in similar sessions and take initiative in presenting topics in the future.
The feedback for the session was given by Rishikesh Sandeep (S4, CSE Dept.), who appreciated the clarity, relevance, and practical approach of the presentation.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Suraj Krishna K (S4, CSE Dept). The participants included VSEC Student Volunteers and two faculty members. Overall, the session was highly informative and provided a clear understanding of energy conservation and its importance in protecting our environment.
