Vidya Central Library honors winners of Speech Competition ‘VoiceHER’

“VoiceHER,” a speech competition, was organized by the Central Library in collaboration with IQAC, ISTE, and the NDLI Club on 11 March 2026. The event celebrated the power of women’s voices in literature and beyond, inspiring students to speak with courage, clarity, and purpose.

A prize distribution and felicitation ceremony was jointly organized by Vidya Central Library and ISTE to honor the winners (Aysha Shafeek M M (First Prize – S4, CSE Dept), Litty E P (Second Prize – S4, MCA) and Aparna C K (Second Prize – S2, ECE Dept) of the Speech Competition titled “VoiceHER – The Power of Women’s Voices in Literature’ on 01 April 2026

The program began with a discussion , highlighting the significance of the theme VoiceHER, which emphasizes how women writers and speakers have shaped literature through courage, creativity, and expression.The winners of the competition were honored with prizes presented by Dr. Sunitha C. (Principal), in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The awardees were applauded for their excellent performance, articulation, and depth of understanding of the theme.

The event also featured a brief reflection on the role of libraries in promoting knowledge, equality, and inclusive learning environments. The organizers emphasized that platforms like VoiceHER help students develop confidence and awareness about social and literary issues.

The event was led by Mr. Girish Kumar P. C. (Librarian) and co-ordinated by Ms. Surabhi M. S. (Assistant Librarian), Mr. Aneesh M. A.and Mr. K. Vijayanarayanan. Mr. Sarath Babu Ramachandran (ISTE Secretary) provided support, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competition.
