ECE Dept conducts Alumni Talk

The ECE Department provides students with valuable industry insights and guidance from an accomplished alumna, helping them better understand career opportunities in the field.

An Alumni Talk was conducted on 07 April 2026 by Ms. Anneta Mariya C (DFT Engineer at Silica Design, Bangalore,2016- 20 Batch, ECE Dept), The session aimed to provide students with industry-oriented insights and guidance for building successful careers in the core electronics and VLSI domain.20

The speaker began by sharing her college experiences, highlighting the continuous support and guidance she received from her teachers. She emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation in core subjects such as VLSI and LCD, which play a crucial role in pursuing careers in electronics.

She stressed the importance of clearing all subjects in the first attempt, explaining that a consistent academic record significantly enhances placement opportunities and reflects a student’s dedication and discipline.

Ms. Anneta also elaborated on the importance of internships, noting that they provide valuable industry exposure, help develop practical skills, and prepare students for real-world challenges. She encouraged students to make effective use of semester breaks to pursue internships.

Further, she highlighted the importance of doing projects, encouraging students to actively engage in technical projects to strengthen their conceptual understanding and build a strong resume. She pointed out that projects showcase problem-solving abilities and hands-on experience, which are highly valued by recruiters.
