CE Alumni Speaks: Career Pathways in Quantity Estimation

The Department of Civil Engineering provided final-year Civil Engineering students with first-hand insights into career opportunities, professional pathways, and industry requirements in the field of Quantity Estimation.

The Department of Civil Engineering organised an alumni interaction session titled “CE Alumni Speaks: Career Pathways in Quantity Estimation” for the final-year Civil Engineering students on 09 July 2026. The session featured Ms. Anupama Paul (Quantity Estimation Engineer at Inder Interior LLC, Dubai, 2018–2022 batch, CE Dept)The session was organised with the objective of familiarising students with the professional scope, career pathways, and employment opportunities available in the field of quantity estimation. Mr. Kiran Babu A. R.(Asst Prof, CE Dept) formally introduced Ms. Anupama Paul to the students.

During the interaction, Ms. Anupama Paul shared valuable insights from her academic and professional journey and highlighted the growing demand for skilled quantity estimation professionals in India and overseas, particularly in the Gulf region. She discussed career opportunities in various sectors, including construction, interior works, contracting, consultancy, and project management. She also emphasised the importance of acquiring practical knowledge and developing proficiency in industry-relevant software and digital tools used for quantity estimation, billing, and project management.

The session provided students with valuable guidance on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Ms. Anupama encouraged the students to continuously update their technical knowledge, develop practical skills, and stay informed about emerging technologies and evolving industry practices. Students actively participated in the interaction and clarified their doubts regarding technical competencies, software proficiency, career progression, and employment opportunities abroad.
