CE Dept organizes Alumni Talk on Construction Planning and Project Scheduling
The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) empowers and guides students through meaningful alumni interactions to connect academic learning with professional practics
The department organized an Alumni Talk for Semester 5 B.Tech. Civil Engineering students on 16 July 2026, featuring Mr. Binai Babu (Senior Planning Engineer at OTAK International, 2007–2011 batch, CE Dept) .
The session, titled “Construction Planning and Project Scheduling: From Classroom Concepts to Professional Practice” provided students with valuable insights into the role and responsibilities of a planning engineer in the successful execution of construction projects.
Mr. Binai Babu shared his professional experiences and discussed key aspects of construction planning, project scheduling, resource management, progress monitoring, and coordination among project stakeholders. He explained how systematic planning and effective scheduling play a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects are completed within the stipulated time, cost, and quality requirements.
The interactive alumni session served as an enriching experiential learning opportunity for the students. It strengthened the connection between the Department of Civil Engineering and its alumni while motivating students to pursue professional excellence and build successful careers in the construction industry.
