CSE Dept organizes two-day hands-on workshop on “STM32 Microcontroller: Fundamentals, Interfacing & Hands-on Development”
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, in association with Inker Robotics Solutions Pvt. Ltd., organized a two-day hands-on workshop on “STM32 Microcontroller: Fundamentals, Interfacing & Hands-on Development” for S5 CSE students during 10-11 September 2026 at the OOPS Lab. The workshop was conducted from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and aimed to provide students with practical exposure to embedded systems development using the STM32 microcontroller platform.
The sessions were handled by Mr. Richin Rosh (Robotics & Technical Operations Lead) and Mr. Deepak S (Robotics & Embedded Systems Trainer) who guided the students through the fundamentals of STM32 technology and its practical applications.
The first day began with an introductory session on the fundamentals of electricity and electronics, covering essential concepts such as voltage, current, and resistance through simple and intuitive analogies. This provided students with a strong conceptual foundation before progressing to the STM32 microcontroller, its architecture, development environment, and GPIO interfacing. Students also participated in initial hands-on exercises to familiarize themselves with the microcontroller platform.
The second day focused extensively on practical activities and STM32 programming. Students worked on exercises involving LED blinking, digital and analog GPIO interfacing, and the integration of sensors and actuators using ADC, PWM, and UART communication protocols. Working in teams under the guidance of the resource persons and faculty members, the students applied their learning to design and develop working mini projects.
The workshop successfully enhanced the students’ understanding of embedded systems and strengthened their skills in microcontroller programming, interfacing, and project development.
The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Nikhitha C Balan (Event Co-ordinator, Asst Prof, CSE Dept) with the support of Ms. Swetha Devan (Asst Prof, CSE Dept), Ms. Chithra (Asst Prof, CSE Dept), faculty members, and students.
Program Outcome
The workshop provided S5 CSE students with valuable hands-on exposure to embedded systems development using the STM32 microcontroller. Through practical sessions and project-based learning, the students enhanced their skills in micro-controller programming, interfacing, and prototype development, while gaining confidence in applying theoretical concepts to real-world applications. The collaboration with Inker Robotics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. further enriched the learning experience by providing industry-oriented insights and practical guidance. The workshop thus contributed significantly to strengthening the students’ technical competencies and practical skills in embedded systems.
| The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest appreciation to the entire CSE Dept on the successful conduct of the session that enables students to translate theoretical concepts into functional prototypes while gaining valuable insights into industry-oriented practices !!! |
