NSS organises stem cell donation and free homeopathy camp

The NSS units of the College, in association with AEGIS Charitable society, Guruvayur, organized a one-day free medical camp on 27 June 2017 at College Auditorium. A stem cell match testing camp was organized to find out matching stem cell for a child named Asnan who is affected with blood cancer. Stem cell samples were collected from over 200 people to make a registry of stem cell donors. A brief description about the importance of stem cell donation was also given.

A homeopathy camp under NHM and AYUSH Primary Health Centre, Kadangod Grama Panchayath, was also conducted. Free medical checkup and medicine distribution were done by a team of doctors headed by Dr. Nikhil Jose Francis, Homeo Medical Officer. Dr Muraleekrishnan K S and Dr Anju Wilson C also helped in running the camp by providing free consultations. Dengue fever prevention medicine was also distributed in the camp. Leaflets were distributed to the students for spreading awareness about the different types of communicable diseases which are likely to spread in this rainy season. The medical camp was a adjudged as a great success as a large number of students, faculty and staff members participated in the camp.
