Vidya Cup football tournament in College a great success!

The Dept of Physical Education of the College organised the second edition of  Vidya Cup football tornament (South India Inter-Engineering College Sevens Floodlit Football Tournament) in the campus during 20-21.02.2018.

The tournament was inaugurated by the famous model Mr. Thasveer Mohammed in a colorful opening ceremony. Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal, Sri K M Parameswara Swamy, Managing Director, KMP Consultants, Heads of Departments of the College, faculty and staff members and students attended the function. Master Shahid Saffer, a free style football juggler, thrilled the spectators with his mastery of ball control and juggling. An exhibition match of Girls Under 16 teams from St. Mary’s Club, Ollur and F C Kuttanellur was also held as part of the inaugural ceremony. Prizes  for the winners of the promotional contests in Women Penalty Shoot-out and Photography were presented on the occasion.

As many as 32 engineering colleges from different parts of South India took part in the tournament. An amount of Rs.50,000 was distributed as cash award to the winners. Government Engineering College, Kannur, won the tournament by defeating Royal Engineering College, Akkikavu, with a 2-0 margin. Mr. Saarang of Royal Engineering College was adjudged as Man of the Tournament and secured Trophy  and Cash award worth Rs.5000 sponsored the Punjab National Bank, Thrissur.
