A team of personnel from the College consisting of Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal, Mr Paul Chakola, Head of Training and Placement Dept and Mr Amal Ganesh, AP, CSE Dept, participated a meeting held at Hotel Garuda, Thrissur, on 30.05.2018, to discuss a recent initiative of Govt of Kerala to develop the human resource requirements in the emerging blockchain technology. Mr. Santhosh Kurup, CEO, ICT Academy of Kerala. was the principal speaker in the meeting.
“Blockchain” is an emerging technology for a transparent, tamper-resistant, distributed ledger or database for recording transactions. In the coming years, this technology is expected to be leveraged by banking and financial sectors and by various governmental departments and agencies. The government anticipates a severe dearth in manpower to meet the demand of the industry. The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) has been mandated to conceptualize and the manage the project to meet the demands in this technology sector in Kerala. The key partners to this program are IIITMK, Kerala Blockchain Academy (KBA), ICTAK andASAP. Institutes can partner in the program to deliver (i) a full stack offering covering technologies like CSS#, HTML5, JS, Python, GO, Mongo DB, Angular JS and Node JS, and (ii) Blockchain Associate Program – the advanced course covering either Ethereum or HyperLedger.
