ECE students make history by entering finals of the national contest IICDC 2017

ECE students have made history: have entered the finals stage of the national contest IICDC – 2017! News & Events Team congratulates all who made this happen.
A team of five S8 B Tech (ECE-A) students (Aftab Ashraf, Akash Sathian, Aishwarya Pradip, Anjali P and Aiswarya Rajeev) has made history by entering the final stage of the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest-2017 (IICDC 2017). The team presented an innovative product “Low-Cost Non-Invasive Hemoglobin Tester” in the semi-finals of IICDC 2017 held at IIM Bangalore on 04 June 2018. The team has cleared the semi-finals and the project has now been selected for competing in the finals satge of the contest. Vidya’s group was the only one team from Kerala to enter the finals to compete with 30 other teams coming from institutions spread over India including IITs and NITs. A great achievement indeed for Vidya students.
The faculty members of the ECE Dept are equally praise-worthy because they provided the much needed motivation, encouragement and support for this unique achievement. In fact, the project idea was conceptualized and implemented under the guidance of Mr. Ramesh C R (AP, ECE Dept).and Mr. Rakesh V S (AP, ECE Dept).
IICDC is organized by Texas Instruments in association with the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The contest is anchored by NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), IIM-B, and supported by ‘MyGov’ & ‘Make in India’. The final will be at IIM-B on August’2018. A cash prize amount of INR 3 Crores will be distributed among top 10 teams selected in the final as the product development fund.
