Students get training on nondestructive testing from experts
This event is not a very recent one, but it is still worth reporting. The news is about students of S5 B Tech ME batches getting practical training on nondestructive testing from experts in the field. This training was intended to supplement the academic curriculum in the subject. United NDT Training and Inspection Centre (UNTIC), an institute established in 2009 and operating from its corporate office in Cochin, conducted a half-day practical training on nondestructive testing for students of S5 B Tech ME batches on 12 October 2018. What is significant about this programme is that it is indicative of the efforts taken by the College in providing the best of learning experience to the students.
Mr Krishnakumar and Mr Satheesh from UNTIC were the guest speakers. They started with basic theory and highlighted the importance of nondestructive testing and basic techniques used in the industry. After the first session, the students were grouped into two groups and demonstrations on Magnetic Particle Inspection and Ultra Sonic Inspection were given to the groups separately. The session was well received by the students and many students interacted with guest speakers.
