NSS Units of Vidya launch a host of programmes to enhance knowledge level of NSS volunteers
1. Total Station survey and water survey
The programme on the basics of Total Station survey and water survey was conducted by Ms Lakshmipriya C P (AP, CE Dept), Mr Mohanan M S (Trade Instructor) and Ms Anjaly P Sasidharan (AP, CE Dept) on 24 July 2019. As many as 34 NSS volunteers attended the programme. The programme helped the participants to get a basic understanding about the methods for the calculation of the area of a surface using Total Station and about the determination of the alkalinity and hardness of water.
2. Workshop on LED bulb and tube assembly
It was programme organised jointly by the Skill Center of Vidya and the NSS Units of Vidya. It was held in the Digital and Communication Lab on 23 July 2019. As many as 39 students participated in the workshop. Ms Shegi Prakash, Ms Jeeja K R, Ms Nimya P G, Mr Nimal Jose, Mr Naveen P V handled the sessions. The participants were given training in the assembling of LED Tube, LED Bulb, T Tube and also in soldering. Training was also given in the making of an egg incubator, in the setting up of fancy light arrangements and in creating a LED star.
3. Workshop on Arduino programming
The Skill Center of Vidya in association with the NSS units of Vidya jointly organized a workshop on Arduino programming during 24 – 25 July 2019 . As many as 56 students attended the workshop. The sessions were handled by faculty members of the ECE department Ms Jemy Kakkasherry, Ms Vandhana M and Mr Anil M. Hands on sessions on LED blinking, Potentiometer, toggling etc were held during the workshop.
4. Session on Photoshop
The NSS units of Vidya organised a session on the basics of Photoshop on 25 July 2019 . The session was handled by Mr Arun Xavier. As many as 30 students attended the programme. Students learned about how to create posters and certificates using Photoshop.
5. Session on basics of mobile app development
NSS units of Vidya organised a session on the basics of mobile app development on 26 July 2019 lead by Mr Shaheem. As many as 50 students attended the programme.
6. Training on home appliances maintenance and CNC machine
The Skill Center of Vidya in association with the NSS units of Vidya jointly organized a training program on Home Appliances Maintenance and CNC Machine on 25 July 2019. Students learned about how to do maintenance of iron box and how to operate CNC machine as part of the training programme.
