World Food Day celebration by NSS
On 16 October 2019, as a part of the World Food Day celebrations, volunteers of the NSS units of Vidya visited Snehalayam Old Age Home in Mundathikode. The team members served food for the inmates of Snehalayam and spent some quality time with the elderly citizens. They collected some data for creating better infrastructure and facilities for the inmates of the Old Age Home. The staff members of the institution were very supportive and thankful for this initiative from the students.

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945. The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
