“Together Apart 2.0” : Second edition of MCA Dept’s online Association Day celebration
The MCA Dept of the College organised an online Dept/Association Day celebrations on 13 May 2020 and the programme was christened as “Together Apart”. This was the first such event ever to be organised by any department of the College. It was a huge success and several people, including the Chairman of VICT, praised the MCA Dept for organising such a meticulously planned and executed programme. It was held during the first corona induced lock down in Kerala and nobody in the Dept in the wildest of their dreams ever thought of the eventuality of organising a similar event in the future. But fate decreed otherwise and there happened a second lock down in Kerala in 2021. So, the Dept organised a second edition of the programme on 4 June 2021 and it was appropriately christened as “Together Apart 2.0”. This second edition also turned to be a huge success in terms of the variety of events, in terms of quality and also in terms of the number of participants.
Highlights
The following were some of the highlights of Together Apart 2.0:
- Inauguration by Ms Divya Pillai, an upcoming cine artiste
- Paying tributes to corona warriors by various activities such as the following:
- Presentation of a short video,created by students, based on the sacrifices of front line corona workers
- Paying tributes in the form of a dance performance
- A collective lighting of candle lights by all the participants of the event
- A video giving a glimpse of the events in the first edition of Together Apart
- A special felicitation message from Principal
- Honouring the entrepreneurs of the Dept.
- Felicitating the class toppers in University Examinations
- Felicitations to the winners of the eSpiderZ 2021 contest
- Official release of the Proceedings of the National Conference on Advances in Computing Technology 2020by the Principal
- A very absorbing online game
- A variety of cultural programmes:
- Dance performances by students
- Performances by children of faculty members
- Songs by students
- Songs by faculty members
- Skit
