The ME Dept of the College, in collaboration with the Autodesk Authorised Training center, BIMIT Kaloor, organised an internal Faculty Development Programme on Autodesk Fusion 360 for the faculty members of Vidya on 20 of April 2022 at the CAD/ CAM Lab. Mr Viju Antony P, Autodesk Authorized Trainer and Executive Director of BIMIT, served as the resource person for the FDP. Mr Vibin Antony P (AP, ME Dept and Coordinator of the FDP) welcomed the participants and gave a brief introduction to the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Dr N Ramachandran (Prof and Head, ME Dept), and as many as 14 faculty members from the Depts of CE, EEE and ME participated in the programme.
Fusion 360, a cutting-edge 3D design software for the manufacturing industry, is a cloud-based 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE platform for product development. It combines industrial and mechanical design, simulation, collaboration, and machining into a single package. The tools in Fusion 360 enable fast and easy exploration of design ideas with an integrated concept to production toolset.
The FDP was aimed at strengthening and expanding the faculty members’ expertise in the Autodesk software so that they could provide meaningful support to their students. The session covered the various modules of software with hands-on training which enabled participants to create 3D models of parts and assemble them in Autodesk Fusion 360. Autodesk also provided Autodesk Course Certificate to the successful candidates.
