Brahmasmriti 2022
To commemorate Er K R Brahmadathan (Founder Executive Director, VICT) – one of the key persons instrumental in the establishment of Vidya with its current structure, and to pay tribute to his selfless contributions to the development of society, Vidya conducted ‘Brahmasmriti 2022’ on 17 September 2022 in the College Auditorium.
The program started with a Video Presentation which depict Brahmadathan as a great humanist, a dependable friend, philosopher, guide, sportsman and a passionate proponent of the Yoga practices. The Video Presentation which covers the overview of Brahmavidya Social Outreach Programme really made a perfect tribute to his life and many accomplishments.
The programme was presided by the Er P K Asokan (Chief Patron, VICT). Dr Mary P Varghese (HoD, EEE Dept & Convener) welcomed all to the function. Floral tributes were offered before the image of Er Brahmadathan. Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean – Academics) introduced the distinguished guest.
Invited Talk
Dr N Raghu (Director, C-MET Thrissur, Ministry of Communications and IT , Govt of India) as chief guest motivated the students and participants with his inspiring words of wisdom. He also inspired the students by enlightening them with the need for “self-respect” and sharing his thoughts regarding the power of being “self-driven”. Dr Saji C B (Principal) handed over the memento to Dr Raghu.
Mr K K Thilakan, EC Member, VICT), Er G Mohanachandran (Honorary Advisor & Non-Executive Director, VICT), Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Adv. P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd.) (Director – Administration, VICT) and Er. M. N. Chandran (Vice President, KSEB Retired Engineers Forum) spoke on the occasion and paid tributes to the great visionary.
Er Brahmadathan’s daughter, Dr Minu Dath (Director- Arya Eye Care, Thrissur) also shared her cherished memories. Ms Krishnaveni (wife of Sri Brahmadathan) too attended the function . A video on “Exploring the world of Yoga” was also presented. Ms Neenu Thomas (Asst Prof, EEE Dept and Co-ordinator , Brahmasmriti) proposed vote of thanks.
