NSS and IEDC women volunteers make significant impact ahead of International Women’s Day  by conducting Blood Donation

NSS and IEDC women volunteers  are  trailblazers in many ways with the successful conduct of  social service and implementations of socially relevant projects. Vidya  is lucky to have some savior blood donors including female donors who have placed an evident example of social service  by conducting several Blood Donation Camps

Sanjeevanam, Mega Blood Donation Camp was successfully conducted on 08 March 2023, by Women Volunteers of NSS  (National Service Scheme) and IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell)  in co-ordination with Govt. General Hospital, Thrissur and Govt. Medical College Hospital, Thrissur. provided all the necessary medical support for the event.

The campaign was inaugurated by Mr  Shobi T R (Velur Panchayat President). Dr. Sreedevi (District General Hospital,Thrissur) and Dr Archana (Medical College Hospital, Thrissur) attended the function.The event was co-ordinated by NSS and IEDC Women volunteers who took care of the logistics, including registration, blood donation, and post-donation care of the donors as it was Women’s Day

The event witnessed a healthy participation of student volunteers, especially female students. The students actively participated in the blood donation campaign and more than 150 students donated the blood.

The programme was led by Krishnaveni (S6, ECE Dept), Sreeranjini (S6, CE Dept), Vismaya (S6, ECE Dept) and Arunuima (S6, ECE Dept) under the guidance of faculty coordinators, Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr Renjith E R (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept) and Mr Anil Melepurath (IEDC  Nodal Officer).

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity  in extending hearty appreciations to the volunteers of  NSS  and IEDC on the successful conduct of  blood donation that meet a myriad of needs to face the challenge of  increasing need of blood !!!
