Dean Academics delivers invited talk in international conclave ‘EmpowerHER – Egypt Program ‘

The EmpowerHER project addresses the gender gap and help Egypt tap into a larger talent pool essential for economic growth. The project also invests in women’s education and the development of a highly skilled workforce in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

With an aim to exchange of ideas to contribute to effective solutions to global challenges and create opportunities for international partnerships, a session ‘EmpowerHER Advancing Women in STEM Higher Education and Careers’ was held during 18-19 February 2024. It is quite heartening to note that Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics, Lead, ISV South Asia Working Group) gave an invited talk in the conclave on 18 February 2024 and took part in the discussion session on 19 February 2024.

EmpowerHER
The project duration is from January 2024 to January 2025. It involves training workshops and skills enhancement program among women graduates in STEM, assisted by experts and mentors. The virtual training workshops will cover technical skills (coding, data analysis) and soft skills (communication, leadership). Discussion, debates, and networking with international experts will be integral to the project.

Keynote Speakers, Speakers, Mentors,Students, Researchers,Union representatives,University representatives from Egypt and outside Egypt, Sector representatives, STEM representatives, Research-performing organisation representatives, Research funding body representatives, Public body representatives, and relevant stakeholders wil participate in interviews, round table discussions, seminars, providing feedback, one-to-one meeting.
