VSSC conducts three day session on ‘Work Life Harmony’

With an aim to balance professional and personal life and to achieve work-life harmony for our staff members, three day session on ‘work life harmony’ was successfully conducted at Vidya Academy of Science & Technology, Thrissur under the auspices of the Vidya Student Support Cell (VSSC).

Each session started with a prayer and introducing the speaker by Dr Vineetha C P (VSSC Coordinator, Asso Prof, AS Dept). The keynote speaker, Ms Asha T V (Students’ Counsellor,VAST) delivered an enlightening talk, offering practical tips and strategies essential for navigating life’s journey effectively. The session aimed to provide teachers with valuable insights into the points discussed below:

• Managing Stress at the Workplace
• Balancing Work and Life
• Tips for a Healthy Life Journey

Day 1:
Ms Asha T V commenced the session by addressing the prevalent issue of stress in the workplace. She emphasized the effects of stress on productivity and mental well-being. Through discussions and real-life examples, attendees gained a deeper understanding of stress triggers and learned effective coping mechanisms. Ms Asha introduced techniques such as time management, and assertive communication to empower participants to manage stress proactively. Ms Delmy David V (Asst Prof, CSE Dept) gave overall feedback on the session.

Day 2:

On the second day, Ms Asha T V discussed the crucial topic of achieving a harmonious balance between work and personal life. Drawing from her own experiences, she highlighted the importance of setting boundaries, prioritizing tasks, and allocating time for leisure activities and self-care. The importance of identifying mind relaxing activities and exercises to be included in the routine were discussed. Ms Asha encouraged participants to adopt a holistic approach, integrating professional aspirations with personal fulfilment to lead a more comfortable life. Er P K Ashokan (Chief Patron, VICT) also attended the session and gave valuable input. Ms Akhila R (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) gave overall feedback on the session.

Day 3: The final day of the session focused on promoting overall health and well-being. Ms Asha T V explained the connection between physical, mental, and emotional health, emphasizing the need for a balanced lifestyle. Participants received tips on exercise, sleep, and stress management techniques tailored to suit their busy schedules.The attendees gained valuable insights into creating sustainable habits that contribute to long-term health and vitality. Faculty members,Mr Anil Paul (Asst Prof, ME Dept),Mr Manesh D (Asst Prof, MCA) and Mr Shankar R (Asst Prof, ME Dept) gave their feedback on the talk and shared how the talk impacted them personally.

The session equipped teachers with a sense of empowerment and resilience in navigating the challenges of the modern world. Dr Saji C B (Principal) presented a memento to the speaker as a token of appreciation for the profound impact of her talk on the audience.
