CE Dept organizes National Conference REACT 2024 : Eappreciation dition 8

With an aim to present the innovations and contributions to Civil Engineering and Technology, the eighth edition of National Conference on Recent Advances in Civil Engineering & Technology ‘REACT 2024’ was organized by CE Dept during 19 – 20 June 2024.The conference brought together a group of well experienced hands in the field of Civil Engineering

The National Conference REACT 2024 began on 19 June 2024, with an inaugural session starting with a prayer.Dr Abhilasha P S (Convener ‘ REACT 2024′, HoD, CE Dept) gave a warm welcome speech.Dr Sunitha C (Principal) delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the importance of learning new software and staying updated with current trends.

The chief guest, Prof. V A Sudhakaran (Retired Professor from the Department of Civil Engineering, GEC Thrissur) officially inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his keynote address, Prof. Sudhakaran stressed the new technologies should not cause discomfort to people. He shared insights into new technologies in various civil engineering fields. Ms Nirmala Krishnan (Co-ordinator ‘REACT 2024’, (Asst Prof, CE Dept) provided a brief overview of the conference. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr Prince Kesav (Student Co-ordinator, S3 M Tech, SE)

Paper Presentations
After the inaugural session, participants from various institutions presented their research papers. The presentations were organized into five sessions based on different streams of civil engineering. Each session was chaired by expert faculty members from VAST.

Valedictory Function
The National Conference ‘REACT 2024’ concluded with a valedictory function on 20 June 2024. This function marked the end of two days filled with insightful presentations and discussions.The conference successfully brought together academicians, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge, discuss advancements, and promote innovation in civil engineering. It was a fruitful and collaborative event, highlighting advancements in civil engineering technology and research.

The conference was effectively organized by Dr Abhilasha P S (HoD, CE Dept) as Convener, Ms Nirmala Krishnan as Co-ordinator and Ms Nisha Varghese as Co-coordinator .
