Punarjani – Phase 2 : Vidya NSS Volunteers restore hospital facilities
Punarjani is a flagship initiative of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Government of Kerala, aimed at restoring and rejuvenating government hospitals through repair, maintenance and cleaning activities with the active support of student volunteers. The project not only enhances healthcare infrastructure but also instills in students the values of service, responsibility and teamwork.
As part of this noble initiative, Phase 2 of Punarjani was successfully conducted by the NSS Units of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur on 02 August 2025 at Ottupara Hospital, Wadakkancheri. The program focused on restoring and improving hospital facilities through the wholehearted involvement of NSS volunteers, who carried out tasks such as repairing and servicing wheelchairs, aligning patient beds and cots, and assisting with general cleaning and equipment arrangement.
The smooth and efficient execution of this activity was made possible through the enthusiastic leadership of the NSS Volunteer Secretaries – Harikrishnan K (S5, ME Dept)
This initiative stood as a testament to the spirit of volunteerism and social commitment demonstrated by Vidya’s NSS community.
