CE HoD and students attend ICEC Third Anniversary Program
The Integrated Civil Engineering Council (ICEC)celebrated its third anniversary on 15 September 2025 at the Grand Arena Convention Centre, Kottayam. Dr. Abilasha P.S. (HoD, CE Dept) along with six prefinal and final-year students, attended the enlightening session.
The event began with an address by Mr. Shinoj (Chairman,ICEC) who highlighted the council’s vision of building technically competent engineers and promoting higher studies. Mr. Raheez (State Convener) spoke about membership eligibility and emphasized ICEC’s collaborative spirit with the motto: “Together we grow.”
Mr Ashraf Ali (newly elected P.R.O.) encouraged members to stay positive and unlock their potential. Mr. Purushothaman (Administrator,ICEC) traced the history of civil engineering and shared insights on modern advancements, including geotube-based marine structures and the Atal Canal project.The new panel members were officially announced
A panel discussion on “Ethical Leadership, Quality Assurance, and the Engineer’s Bill” addressed real cases such as the Palarivattam Bridge failure and a retaining wall collapse, stressing the importance of uncompromised quality in construction.
