Blood donation camp

In a commendable demonstration of community service and social responsibility, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 101, 200, 662, and 663 of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) successfully organised a Blood Donation Camp on 16 December 2025.

The programme, conducted in collaboration with the Government Medical College, Thrissur, received an overwhelming and enthusiastic response from the college community. The camp was held within the college premises, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and well-equipped environment for all participants. The medical team from the Government Medical College provided professional support, including donor screening, blood collection, and post-donation care, ensuring that the entire process ran smoothly and efficiently.

A total of 102 units of blood were collected, marking a significant achievement and highlighting the strong spirit of social commitment among the participants. Donors included students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and other members of the institution, all of whom participated with discipline and altruism. The orderly conduct of the camp and the cooperative attitude of the donors greatly contributed to its success.

The effective coordination and execution of the event were made possible through the dedicated efforts of the NSS Rudhirasena Coordinators—Jithisha U J (S6, CSE Dept), CD Adithyan (S6, AIML Dept), Hashim Hameed (S6, EEE Dept), Abhinav Sarathy (S6, ECE Dept), Daya Rose (S6,  CSE Dept), Niranjan Agnivesh (S5,  ME Dept), Rashmi V R (S6,  ECE Dept) and Aleena Peter (S6, ECE Dept). Their systematic planning, volunteer management, and coordination with the medical team ensured smooth operations throughout the camp.

The event was conducted under the able guidance of Mr. Ranjith E. R.(NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, ME Dept),Mr. Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer, Asso Prof, EEE  Dept) and Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, CSE Dept).
