EEE Dept conducts workshop titled “Mastering LaTeX & AI Tools”
The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (AEEE) provides students with valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience in modern academic and technological tools through a wide range of activities
The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (AEEE), successfully organized a comprehensive full-day workshop titled “Mastering LaTeX & AI Tools” on 08 April 2026. The event brought together an enthusiastic mix of +1, +2, +2 completed, and B.Tech students, offering them a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in modern academic and technological tools.
Insightful Learning Experience
The workshop was designed to equip students with practical knowledge in LaTeX document preparation and Artificial Intelligence tools, both of which are increasingly essential in academic and professional environments. The event successfully blended expert instruction, peer-led sessions, and engaging activities, creating a vibrant and interactive learning atmosphere.
Session 1: LaTeX – Document Typesetting
The morning session was led by Mr. Arun Xavier (Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept) He introduced participants to the fundamentals of LaTeX, covering:
- Document structuring and formatting
- Insertion of mathematical equations, tables, and figures
- Academic report preparation techniques
The session was highly interactive, with students practicing commands in real-time on laboratory systems. B.Tech students, in particular, showed keen interest in applying LaTeX for their project reports and research work.
Session 2: Entertainment Break
To refresh the participants, an engaging entertainment session featuring lively music performances was conducted by Blesswin C A (S4,EEE Dept), Adhish Saji (S4,EEE Dept) and Rinshif Ali (S4,EEE Dept), creating a cheerful atmosphere that strengthened interaction and camaraderie among participants and faculty.
Session 3: AI Tools – Practical Applications
The afternoon session was led by fourth-semester EEE students:
- Ajay C S (S4,EEE Dept)
- Anantha Krishnan P R (S4,EEE Dept)
- Blessvin C A (S4,EEE Dept)
They demonstrated practical applications of modern AI tools, covering:
- Prompt engineering techniques
- AI-assisted writing and coding
- Image recognition tools
- Ethical considerations in AI usage
The peer-led approach made the session highly relatable and engaging, encouraging active participation and curiosity among attendees.
Diverse Participation
The workshop attracted students from various academic stages:
- +1 Students: Introduced to emerging tools and technologies
- +2 Students: Exploring applications for exams and projects
- +2 Completed Students: Building strong technical foundations
- B.Tech Students: Applying advanced tools for academic and research purposes
The full-day session, led by the resource persons Mr. Arun Xavier (Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept), Mr. Krishnakumar M (Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept), Mr. Anantha Krishnan P R (S4, EEE Dept), Mr. Blesswin C A (S4, EEE Dept) and Mr. Ajay C S (S4, EEE Dept) was a grand success, adding significant value to the participants through insightful and enriching sessions.
The lab support for the session was provided by Ms. Jisha P R (Trade Instructor, EEE Dept), Mr. Arun P R (Trade Instructor, EEE Dept) and Mr. Jayaraj K V (Trade Instructor, EEE Dept) ensuring the smooth conduct of all technical activities.
The overall coordination of the event was overseen by Ms. Anooja V S (Asst Prof – Sr Grade,EEE Dept) with active support from the student coordinators Blesswin C A (S4, EEE Dept ), Amal Krishna K (S4, EEE Dept), Ananthakrishnan P R (S4, EEE Dept) and Goutham R (S4, EEE Dept), who played a key role in the successful organization of the program.
