NSS organises Anemia Awareness Session
To create awareness about anemia and emphasize the importance of women’s health, knowledge and preventive care, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units of Vidya organized an Anemia Awareness Session on 09 March 2026 as part of Women’s Day celebrations.
The session was handled by Dr. Aswathy P. Anilkumar (Senior Consultant Gynecologist,Nyle Super Speciality Hospital) who served as the resource person. She delivered an informative and engaging talk on the causes, symptoms and prevention of anemia, with special emphasis on maintaining healthy hemoglobin levels, particularly among women.
During the session, the speaker highlighted the importance of including iron-rich foods in daily diets, adopting healthy lifestyle practices, and undergoing regular medical check-ups. She also addressed common misconceptions related to anemia and encouraged students to take proactive steps toward improving their health. The interactive nature of the session enabled participants to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the topic.
The programme was effectively coordinated by the NSS Rudhirasena Coordinators: Jithisha U. J. (S6, CSE Dept), Daya Rose (S6 CSE), Rashmi V. R. (S6, ECE Dept) and Aleena Peter (S6, ECE Dept). They were ably supported by the Volunteer Secretaries and NSS volunteers, who played a vital role in organizing the session, managing registrations, coordinating participants, and ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, CSE Dept). whose support and supervision were instrumental in the successful execution of the programme.
