Vidya Central Library conducts online orientation programme on Springer e-Resources
Vidya Central Library has been actively organizing orientation and awareness programmes to familiarize faculty members with the Springer e-Resources subscribed by the institution and to encourage their effective use in academic, teaching, and research endeavors.
The Central Library organized an Online Orientation Programme on Springer e-Resources in association with Springer Nature on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, held on 23 April 2026 through an online platform. The programme aimed to create awareness and promote the effective utilization of Springer e-journals and other digital resources subscribed to by the institution.
The session was led by Mr. Somaditya Neogy (Manager – Inside Sales, Springer Nature) who possesses nearly 27 years of experience in the publishing and information solutions industry. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Librarian, who emphasized the significance of books, research, and intellectual property rights, while also acknowledging the valuable collaboration with Springer Nature.
During the session, the resource person provided a comprehensive overview of Springer e-resources, including access to e-journals, advanced search techniques, content discovery tools, and best practices for effective information retrieval.A live demonstration of the Springer platform enabled participants to gain practical insights into navigating and utilizing the available resources.The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing participants to clarify their queries and enhance their understanding of the platform.
A total of 31 faculty members participated in the programme. The session concluded at 3:40 PM and received positive feedback from the participants. The orientation programme successfully enhanced awareness of Springer e-resources and is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening academic and research activities within the institution through increased utilization of digital information resources.
