CE faculty members successfully complete FDP on “Emerging Trends in GIS and Artificial Intelligence for Civil Engineering”

Recognizing the importance of lifelong learning and continuous professional development, Vidya Academy of Science and Technology consistently encourages and supports its faculty members to participate in programs that enhance their knowledge and skills.

In line with this commitment, Ms. Chithira Ajeeth (Asst Prof, CE Dept), Ms. Seetha Pisharikkel (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Kalyani Vijayakumar (Asst Prof, CE Dept) successfully completed a 6-Day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Trends in GIS and Artificial Intelligence for Civil Engineering” organized by Sreepathy Institute of Management and Technology (SIMAT) from June 8–13, 2026.

The program provided valuable insights into the applications of GIS and AI in infrastructure planning, environmental assessment, transportation systems, smart cities, and sustainable development.  The FDP enhanced their data-driven decision-making capabilities and promoted interdisciplinary innovation—knowledge that the faculty will now aim to integrate directly into the department’s teaching, research, consultancy, and curriculum development activities.
