VSEC empowers young minds for a Greener Tomorrow @ “GREEN – Growth, Renewable Energy, Environment, Nation”

Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC), under the aegis of the Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT), has always striven to create awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation, renewable energy, and sustainable living. As part of this commitment, VSEC organized a special programme titled “GREEN – Growth, Renewable Energy, Environment, Nation“ on 07 June 2026 at 7:00 PM through an online platform. The programme was conducted as part of the VSEC Online Empowerment Series for scholarship students with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable living practices among young learners.

The programme commenced with a silent prayer at 7:00 PM, creating a reflective atmosphere and invoking positive thoughts for the successful conduct of the event. The programme introduction was delivered by Gayathri P (S6,ECE Dept.) who welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of World Environment Day. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts to protect the environment and explained the relevance of the programme theme, “GREEN – Growth, Renewable Energy, Environment, Nation.”

The introduction of the Resource Person was delivered by Aswathy E. R. (VSEC Staff Member,Asst Prof,AIML Dept). She warmly welcomed the participants and introduced the resource person, Ms. Surabhi M.S (VSEC Staff Member, Asst Librarian) .

The expert talk was delivered by Ms. Surabhi  who presented an informative and inspiring session on environmental sustainability. She discussed the importance of conserving natural resources, reducing environmental degradation, and adopting eco-friendly practices in daily life. The session emphasized the significance of renewable energy, environmental responsibility, and individual participation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Through practical examples and meaningful insights, she motivated students to become active contributors to environmental conservation.

An engaging Student Interaction Session (Q&A) followed the expert talk. Students actively participated by sharing their views and raising questions on environmental issues, renewable energy, and sustainable practices. The interactive discussion enhanced their understanding of the subject and encouraged them to adopt environmentally responsible behaviours in their daily lives.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Aswathy E. R. who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person, VSEC leadership, coordinators, volunteers, and all participants for their valuable support and active involvement in making the programme a grand success.
