Library orientation programme for MCA Students
The Central Library makes every effort to familiarize newly joined MCA students with the library’s resources, facilities, services, and procedures available to support their academic and research needs.
A Library Orientation Programme was conducted for the newly joined MCA students on 13 August 2026. Mr P C Girishkumar (Librarian) handled the session.The Librarian welcomed the MCA students and highlighted the importance of effective reading and the role of the Library in supporting academic learning, research and professional development. The importance of making effective use of the physical and digital resources available in the Library was also emphasized, along with an overview of Library rules and borrowing procedures for MCA students.
The Library’s physical and digital collections were introduced, with emphasis on subject-specific resources, e-books, e-journals and other digital resources useful for coursework, assignments, projects and research activities. The students were subsequently taken to the Library, where the different sections and facilities were introduced and demonstrated by the Library staff. The students were familiarized with the location and use of various resources and services available in the Library.
