Digital Awareness on the Move: NSS VAST RailOne Campaign at Wadakkanchery Railway Station
The NSS Unit of Vidya promote digital awareness among railway passengers by familiarizing them with the RailOne mobile application and encouraging the use of digital railway services.
A Railway Passenger Awareness Campaign at Wadakkanchery Railway Station was conducted on 18 July 2026 as part of its efforts to promote awareness and encourage the use of digital railway services. The campaign focused on introducing passengers to the RailOne mobile application and familiarising them with its various features and services.
The programme aimed to create awareness among railway passengers about convenient digital facilities such as train ticket and platform ticket booking, train enquiry, PNR status checking, and complaint and grievance registration. The initiative also sought to encourage passengers to make greater use of technology-based railway services.
Prior to interacting with passengers, Ms. Meera (Supervisor) nominated for RailOne app promotion at Thrissur Railway Station, conducted an orientation session for the NSS volunteers. She explained the major features of the RailOne application and demonstrated how passengers could access various railway services and register complaints through the platform. The session equipped the volunteers with the necessary knowledge to address passenger queries and effectively communicate the benefits of the application.
Following the orientation, the NSS volunteers interacted with passengers across different platforms of Wadakkanchery Railway Station. Through direct interaction and demonstrations, they explained the process of downloading and setting up the RailOne application, booking train and platform tickets, accessing train information, and checking PNR status. The volunteers also guided passengers on the available complaint and grievance registration facilities.
The campaign received an encouraging response from the passengers. Several passengers actively participated in the demonstrations, clarified their queries, and expressed interest in using the RailOne application to access railway services and assistance.
The programme was coordinated by NSS Volunteer Secretaries Pavithra M G (S5, CSE Dept), Midhun Das K (S5, CE Dept) and Prakeerthana Baiju (S5, AIML Dept). Their effective coordination ensured proper volunteer deployment and smooth interaction with the passengers.
