ECE Dept conducts workshop on “Introduction to Robotics”

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) conducts various programmes for Plus Two students to introduce them to the fundamentals of Arduino UNO, basic robotics, electronics, and programming through hands-on activities and practical demonstrations.

A workshop titled “Introduction to Robotics” was conducted for the Plus Two students of CHSS Chenthrappinni on 19 September 2026. A total of 46 students participated in the programme. The workshop was aimed at introducing students to the fundamentals of Arduino UNO and basic robotics through a hands-on Arduino programming session, while providing practical exposure to electronics and programming concepts. The technical sessions were handled by Ms. Remya K R (Asst Prof, ECE Dept), Ms. Ashitha P R (Asst Prof, ECE Dept), Ms. Shegi Indulal (Trade Instructor, ECE Dept) and Ms. Priyanka V (Trade Instructor, ECE Dept). 

The session covered the basic concepts and programming of the Arduino UNO platform, along with demonstrations of various practical applications and mini-projects, including LED blinking, traffic light control, ultrasonic sensor interfacing, and 7-segment display applications. These demonstrations helped the students understand the practical implementation of electronics and programming concepts. The students were also given opportunities for hands-on experimentation, making the session interactive and engaging. The students were accompanied by Mr. Pradeep M V (HSST – Computer Science, CHSS Chenthrappinni), Mr. Rajesh E R (HSST – Computer Science, CHSS Chenthrappinni) and Ms. Sini V S (HSST – Mathematics,CHSS Chenthrappinni).

The workshop provided the participants with valuable hands-on exposure to Arduino programming, basic electronics, sensors, displays, and robotics, while encouraging them to explore technology through practical learning. The programme was successfully conducted with active participation from the students and provided a meaningful learning experience in robotics and embedded systems.

Ms. Ashitha made dedicated efforts in bringing the students together and coordinating all the sessions, contributing significantly to the successful conduct of the workshop.
