CE faculty members and students participate in the 59th Engineers’ Day Celebration at IE(I) Thrissur Local Centre

The Institution of Engineers (India), Thrissur Local Centre, celebrated the 59th Engineers’ Day on 15 September 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s most distinguished engineers and visionaries.

The programme was attended by Dr. Justine Jose (Honorary Secretary of IE(I), Thrissur Local Centre, Prof, CE Dept) and Ms. Roshni Vijay (Asst Prof,CE Dept) , along with students Ashwajith Pradeep (S5,CE Dept), Arjun Sajeesh (S5,CE Dept), and Midhun N. N. (S5,CE Dept). Their participation provided an opportunity to honour the legacy of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and recognize the significant role of engineering in national development.

The celebration commenced with the Chief Guest, Er. P. G. Devadas, MIE(former General Manager (Operations) of Silpa Projects & Infrastructure (I) Pvt. Ltd., Kochi) garlanding the bust of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Er. S. Rathish, FIE (Chairman of the Thrissur Local Centr) delivered the welcome address, while Dr. V. Thomas John, FIE (Former Chairman)  introduced the Chief Guest. Er. V. V. Sudhakaran (Former Chairman) presented the memoirs of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, highlighting his remarkable contributions to engineering and nation-building.
